Golden Gate Bridge

It was a bright sunny but not so warm Sunday morning. Really didn't know where to go as SFO was as new a place to me, as it was to Archu. Finally mustered the courage to go to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a 50 miles drive on 101-N.
I had a new Chrysler Sebring, which barely had 10000 miles on it. It was simply waiting to be driven or rather raced? The drive was awesome and the last leg where we drove through SFO downtown was something which I'd remember for sometime. Not as breathtaking as New York, but this city has a charm of it's own.
Finally we reached the GGB. It's an imposing and breathtaking monolith which makes you stand in awe. On one side is the San Francisco Bay and on the other is the never ending expanse of the deep blue Pacific. It stretches endlessly and you can see it kiss the horizon. The sunset from the hill point was something which I and Archu would remember for a long long time.

Day out at Sea World - San Antonio, TX

Finally our planned Cognizant trip went of well. San Antonio was about an hour and a half from Austin and the drive was a good one. Kartik was keen to stretch the legs of his newly acquired Solara. Nandu though was caught speeding, after which he wasn't the person whom we knew. Seemed like we could've reached Sea World faster if we just walked.

It was a scorcher of a day and the August sun was simply feasting itself on our defenseless torsos. Sunscreen... though we had one, was just passe. The dolphin show and the killer whale show aka Shamu show was worth the wait. T'was an awesome display of acrobatics and precision training.

The scariest ofcourse was the Steel Eel... though just a mini roll-a-coaster. That one ride was enough for me to say... enough is enough.

After a tiring day we all got our bruised and broken.. aha.. and burnt bodies back home. Worth the trip.

Tubing in New Braunfels (Texas)

Wow.. what a day to unwind.

Met some really friendly people, thanks to Kartik. Nice and chirpy Alisha, the ever so bubbly Twinkle, her younger 'sis and GG with his lazy, almost idyllic exhuberance. Beena's hot bulls-eye toasts would make even the not so hungry really drool. But on the whole this bunch had lots to celebrate and cheer about and one can only wish them all the very best for good times to come.

It was a lazy afternoon and tubing down the Landa river for over couple of hours was fun. Though later I did have a tough time when I got caught in one of the rapids and instead of coke gulped down couple of glasses of river water... eeks... tasted bad. But it was fun all the way.

Tired and exhausted we made a pit stop at an Indian restaurant called Swad and satisfied our appetite which had grown to gastronomic proportions. All of us were dying of hunger and just wished that we could order the entire menu. Having had my fill... I finally called it a day.

This is just the start

Sitting away... idling away knowing not what to do... awesome weather outside. Bright and sunny, perfect for a good game of cricket, I guess. But what to do, sitting in front of the dumb box and helping my company earn $65 an hour for doing nothing. Seems fun.. but believe me its aweful sitting and reading TOI or ET. And then I started blogging...
